道、原道、载道--"道"范畴美学释义

道的根本内涵是周行不已,因此才体现为"道路"或"道理".论文原道,在于把文艺之"文"与造化之"文"一体贯通,使个体人心与天地之心统一、艺术创作的法则与万物生化之道统一.文以载道,在于突出儒家道统所建立的伦理规范,但其中仍然保留了道周行不已的含义和藉言通要眇、从物见几微、在优游涵养中获得道的生机流行活力的思想.

The Way, Law of Nature, and the Vehicle of the Confucian Ideas

The essence of the Way is to move in an endless circle as it is embodied in "Road" or "Truth. " To evaluate a piece of literary work in accordance with the Way, we must integrate its " rules of literary creation " with "law" of nature so as to unite individual heart with the heart of the earth and the sky, artistic creating methods with law of natural growth. "Writings are meant to expound truth" , in which ethic standards prescribed by Confucian orthodoxy has been highlighted. However, the implications of the Way, namely, "to move in an unending circle" have still been retained in it. We can appreciate the beauty of literary writings through their diction and language and get a better understanding of their charm when we read them at ease and leisure.
