| 摘 要： | 霍桑的小说《七个尖角阁的房子》在世人的眼中不如《红字》那样声名远播,但在霍桑的心中却是一部更具个人心性的小说。它以哥特的黑色传奇式手法演绎了美国社会的罪孽历史,揭示了在19世纪美国早期的社会现实中,既显露有仍处于矛盾状态的新兴思想,更存在急待解决的严重社会问题。

| Abstract: | Though Hawthorne's novel The House of the Seven Gables is not so famous as his previous one The Scarlet Letter,Hawthorne himself regarded it as the novel bearing his own temperament.This novel demonstrates the social evils in early American history with the artistic measures of the black gothic romance,and reveals the emerging controversial new concepts as well as the serious social problems in the nineteenth-century American society. |
