试析中东现代化的特点

中东的现代化在第三世界独具特色,大体上具有以下七个特点:一是中东是第三世界现代化最先开始的地区之一,二是中东国家在民族建构上面临着重重困难,三是以两世兼重为特点的伊斯兰教对中东的现代化进程产生了极其深刻的影响,四是君主制的现代化是中东现代化的重要类型,五是频繁的战争对现代化的严重破坏,六是石油对中东经济社会的深刻影响,七是尽管中东的现代化起步较早,但其发展迟缓,成效不明显。

A Tentative Analysis of the Characteristics of Modernization in the Middle East

In the Third World, the Middle East is unique in its modernization. Basically seven Characteristics have been found in the modernization of the Middle East since the modern times.Firstly,it is the area where the modernization began the earliest in the Third World.Secondly,the countries in the Middle East met with many difficulties in nation building.Thirdly,Islam,characterized by stressing on both this and next generation,has played very strong influence on the process of the modernization in the Middle East.Fourthly,the modernization by monarchs is an important type of modernization in the Middle East.Fifthly,frequent wars have done much damage to the modernization in the Middle East.Sixthly, the deep influence of oil on the economy and society of the Middle East.Seventhly,though it began early,the modernization in the Middle East developed slowly and without much success.
