As the first intellectual who visited England indivdually,Wang Tao investigated every aspect of this country,such as politics,economy,military,etc.He composed a comprehensive image of England,which presented the highest level of the Chinese congition about England at that time.Because he had been translating works with the British missionaries,he realized the necessity to learn from the west.Thus England was portrayed as a utopia in his works:the model for the modern China.
