| Abstract: | Depending on its military might, Zeng State is a powerful adversary for Chu State in the early period of Chunqiu. Weapons founded in the tomb of Marquis Yi of Zeng add up to 4 777. Large quantity of chariots was recorded in the funeral bamboo slips. All these indicate that Zeng State is a large and strong state to the east of Han river. |
