| 摘 要： | 本文比较了列奥·斯特劳斯与雅斯贝尔斯关于现代性问题的不同的解读角度,意在揭示现代性仍是我们今天不得不面对的极其重大的理论现实问题,其中涉及世俗化、功利化中的“应当”与“存在”、“理想”与“实际”、“传统”与“变革”以及价值相对主义、虚无主义等方面的问题;而在这些问题后面,还必须重新审视有关历史进步、社会平等、平民革命等“习以为常”了的观念。全部问题似乎可以归结为:无论西方现代性的道路多么曲折,也无论近代以来中国式的现代性特征多么异乎寻常,我们能否用现代性这个概念来说明问题之所在,并把现代性的追求视为一种无法逃脱的“宿命”

| Abstract: | This article compares Leo Strauss' interpretation about modernity with Yaspers',revealing that modernity is still the most important theoretical and realistic pro blem we have to face today.It involves secularization,utilitarianism as well as nihilism.Behind these probl ems,it is necessary to reexamine the conceptions about historical progress,social equality,civil revolut ion that have been taken for granted.No matter how zigzag the way of western modernity is and how specific moderni ty in China is,can we use this concept and regard it as an inevitabl e"destiny"? |
