母系氏族社会是典型的氏族社会,在与之相对应的对偶婚制度下,夫妻也是生活在一起的,“走访婚”不属于对偶婚。母系氏族社会最基本的经济单位是“家户经济”。父系氏族社会是氏族社会瓦解时期的别称,不能视作与母系氏族社会并列的氏族社会发展阶段。在所谓父系氏族社会阶段,部落联盟发展为军事民主制,出现个人性质的权力并从此开始了向国家的演进。

Maternal clan society is a typical clan society,in which the marriage system is the dual.In this system,husband and wife live together.But the interviewing marriage does not belong to the dual marriage system.In the maternal society,the basic economic unit is the family economy.Whereas,the paternal clan society is another name of the period of the bankrupcy of the society.Which cannot be taken as the period which parallel to the maternal clan society.In the so-called paternal clan society period,tribal alliance develops into the military democratic system,the individualistic power appears,and from then on,it gradually progress' into a country.
