焦循文学代胜说论析

焦循提出的"一代有一代之所胜"的文学史观,是从属于他的学术思想体系的。他论学主张兼容并包,不据守,同时又看到各家各派的长处;论文则认识到不同文体各有体制特点,给予词曲以充分重视。但在焦循的思想体系中文学并不独立,其存在意义是经学赋予的。在推重文学史上文体创新的同时,焦循又认为抒发性情的要求是这种创新的根本动力。他忽视骈文,认为它无根底无性情,重视八股文则由于时代的偏见。焦循的思想渊源有自,后来章太炎、王国维又加以阐扬。但焦、章是从思想体系中推导而来,王则是纯粹的文学立场,所以二者之说同中有异,实为两派观点。

On Jiao Xun's Thought That Every Dynasty Has Its Own Style

Jiao Xun put forward that every dynasty had its own style according to his academic system.He insisted that scholars should accept the merit of every school.Meanwhile,every style has its merit too,so Ci and Qu should be accepted.But literature does not have independence from the study of Confucian Scriptures.Jiao Xun thought the new style was ever important and personal nature and emotions were the basic reason of appearance of new style.Jiao Xun ignored pianwen,Parallel Prose,because it did not have the base of Confucian Scriptures or personal nature or emotions.He recognized eight-legged style because of his time.Jiao Xun has his pioneers.After him,Zhang Taiyan and Wang Guowei develop his thought.Jiao and Zhang belong to a group whose thoughts have not been independent from their academic systems and Wang is in another group who insist in the independence of literature.
