American Higher Education: a Historical Transformation from the Tower of Ivory to the Power Station of Social Development

With the development of the higher education within three hundred years,America had historically spent more than 100 years transforming the higher educational institution from the Tower of Ivory to the power station of the social development,as a worth introspecting.Through passing the educational legislation,America had established agricultural and industrial colleges,so that higher education can serve the social development.Meanwhile,America had renovated the traditional colleges,adopted the department system,and founded the postgraduate research institutes so as to establish the modern dimensional universities.The diverse development of American higher education system has the positive model value to the development and reform of our country's higher education.
