学术论文中动词性据素使用情况的英汉对比研究

摘    要:文章对英汉学术论文中动词性据素的使用情况进行对比研究,语料来自英汉语言学核心期刊各40篇。研究结果表明,英汉学术论文动词性据素呈显著差异:(1)英语学术论文中动词性据素的语言形式数量和总使用频率都高于汉语学术论文;(2)英语学术论文作者使用最多的是“论证”类动词性据素,使用最少的是“思考”类,而“思考”类动词性据素却是汉语学术论文中出现频率最高的;(3)汉语学术论文作者对信息来源和可靠性所承担的责任大于英语学术论文作者。进一步分析表明,导致两种语言学术论文中动词性据素使用情况不同的原因主要是中西文化和思维方式的差异。

Abstract:This study ,based on the data analysis of verbal evidentials (VEs) in English and Chinese academic papers (APs) from linguistics (40 Chinese and 40 English) ,shows significant dissimilarities between English and Chinese APs :1) Both the number of linguistic forms and the frequency of VEs in English APs are greater than those in Chinese APs ;2) English writers of APs prefer the“argue” type of VEs ,and use the“think”type the least ,while the“think”type of VEs occupy the highest frequency in Chinese APs ;3) Chinese writers of APs are more committed to both the source and the reliability of the information provided .These dissimilarities ,as indicated by further analyses ,might be caused by the differences in culture and thinking pattern between the two peoples .
