"玉器时代"是20世纪80年代我国考古界提出的一个历史分期概念,这个概念的提出,主要是基于良渚文化遗址中出现的大量玉礼器所反映出来的文化信息.对"玉器时代"应该慎下结论,特别是在目前考古材料还不充分的情况下,只能将其视为良渚等文化的一个阶段,这个阶段是以宗法制度的形成、玉器的礼器化为特点的.

Remark on "Jade Article Era"

Jade Articles Era", raised by some historians in 1980s in the archaeological domain, is a concept for the specific historical period. The concept has been raised mainly based on the cultural messages which came from a lot of the jade articles of Liangzhu archaeological site. Through compiling and analyzing a series of the representative views on"Jade Articles Era", the author here states his own opinions as follows: it is not persuasive enough to define"Jade Articles Era" because of lacking full archaeological proofs. It may be better that we define the era as one special period of Liangzhu culture which has the features of forming patriarch system and making jade articles as etiquette articles.
