A Tentative Exploration into the Ideas of Zhang Jian and Rong Desheng on Popular Education Through Technical and Vocational Training

Both Zhang Jian and Rong Desheng were prominent Chinese entrepre- neurs known for their contributions to the economic development of modern China. In spite of the differences in the development of the conglomerates they represented respectively,they shared a number of ideas on the provision of technical and vocation training,focusing,for example,on practical needs,flexible methods and innova- tions.This not only produced a large body of skilled laborers,promoted the steady growth of China's national industry,but also provided useful experience for technical and vocational training to develop in a healthy and sustainable manner.
