反思左翼文艺工作者对林语堂文艺观的批判

20世纪30年代,林语堂提倡幽默、推崇性灵,打出“不干涉政治”的自由主义旗帜,有意回避阶级性、社会性、时代性和思想性等重大命题,这可以看成是他退而在精神领域求得思想解脱和心灵自由的文化苦旅。左翼文艺工作者高扬的文艺功利性与林语堂在艺术上的价值取向有着明显的不同。“左联”的“文学应当为政治服务,并把所有的非政治宣传的文学看作是无价值的”的文艺批评标准,以及文艺批评中教条主义、宗派倾向都是不利于中国新文艺健康成长的。

Reunderstanding the Left's Criticism on Lin Yutang's Literary and Art Outlook

In 1930s,Lin Yutang advocated in his works humor,spirituality and the freedom of "non-interference in politics".He intentionally avoided such important issues concerning class,society,times and ideology.All this can be seen as his painstaking aspiration for freedom both ideologically and emotionally in his cultural journey.However,there is a distinguishable difference between his outlook and that of the Left,who carried forward the practicality of literature and art.They thought literature must serve politics and regarded all non-political literature as valueless.Such codes,together with doctrinairism and religious inclination among literary and art criticism,prove to be harmful for the healthy growth of Chinese new literature and art.
