Rachmaninov's Complex about Death

Rachmaninov was one of the late Russian romantic composers. He experienced troubled times in the transition from the old century to the new. His life was full of hardships and frustrations. He spent all his life in dejection and pain while he was absorbed in thought of the philosophical proposition about life and death. His works are permeated with this idea. This paper discusses the spiritual source for his complex about death and his romantic interpretation of the above-mentioned proposition via music and his life experience.
