Hong Xiuquan''''s Heavenly Destiny and Regime Construction of Taiping Tianguo

Hong Ciu quan's theory of heavenly destiny was the kernel conception of the religion and regime construction of Taiping Tianguo. This paper attempts to analyze this theory with special regard to the dilemma between the holy authority and the secular rationality, the differences in the political ideas as reflected in the religious dispute between Hong Xiu quan and western missionaries, and Hong Ren gan's failure to break through such a theory, in order to expose the negative effect of this theory about Hong Xiu quan's leader psychology and the regime modernization of Taiping Tianguo.
