A new approach for analyzing population data: log linear models of tables of counts |

| Abstract: | The use of log linear models for analyzing historical population data is discussed. The method is applied to data from a 1788 census in order to investigate the effect of ethnicity and occupational status on male marriage patterns in Parral, a mining community in northern New Spain. |
