A Comparison between Misery by Chekhov and ZHU FU by LU Xun

Chekhov,a Russian writer, and LU Xun, the founder of Chinese modern literature in 1920s are from different countries in different times. A comparative study of Misery by Chekhov and ZHU FU by LU Xun indicates that they have a lot in common in literary creation: in respect of literary creation themes, both of them choose unimportant persons at the bottom of society as the characters if their novels; in respect of writing skills, they adopt realistic and succinct style. Nevertheless, difference of their living times results in differences of their literary works in depth, range as well as social values.
