Some Problems of Historical Scholarship in the Chinese People's Republic

In recent years some erroneous tendencies have appeared in historical scholarship in the Chinese People's Republic that are closely related to the general mistaken political course of the leadership of the Communist Party of China, constituting a departure from the agreed line in the international communist movement. As a consequence, it becomes necessary to make a critical examination of the situation in historical scholarship in the CPR, to evaluate objectively the results of its development, and to demonstrate its principal erroneous trends.
