Comparison between Mansfield and Xu Zhimo

Mansfield and Xu Zhimo were in the different cultural atmospheres, but theirworks are surprisingly similar in both narrative point of view and styles. Stories by Mansfield are mainly told by thecharacter's limited point of view, especially in "Bliss" themain character Bertha's disillusion is represented through her own point of view. In Xu Zhimo's story "Too Strong to Dissolve (Singapore)"the character LianFeng's loneliness and sorrow are represented through his own point of view. Styles in both writers'works are similar because theirworks are noted for implication. Indeed, the similarities between the two writers have a solid foundation in that Xu Zhimo has visited Mansfield in 1922, and he is the first who has translated Mansfield's works.
