On Hesiod's Myths in Five Eras

Abstracts:Hesiod narrated in his works and days the five eras which human beings had experienced . Scholars both at home and abroad have analyzed and interpreted the myths from different perspectives and hoped to discover its underlying meanings .Some scholars think that Hesiod's five eras present a historical view of con‐tinuous decline .The view is problematic because they haven't seen some progressive and optimistic forces in the decline .Hesiod's depictions of the five eras demonstrate that labor is the basis of justice ,and only through justice can society maintain its normal order .
