“华夷之辨”的核心是文化之辨,强调保卫先进的华夏文化以求发展,反对屈从落后的夷狄习俗而倒退苟安。这一观念,促成了一种凝重执著的民族凝聚力和向心力,促使了各少数民族向汉文化靠拢而融合为一个民族。特别是在少数民族建立政权时,它成为排斥落后文化,保证中华文化传承、延续的思想武器。因此,“‘华夷之辨’对中华民族史的负面影响”之说需要商榷。

The Idea of Differentiation between Hua and Yi People's Impact on Chinese History

The core of the differentiation between Hua and Yi was focuses on its cultural meanings. It emphasized on protecting the advanced Huaxia customas inorder to make its progress and objected that the people possibility of to the yielding to the backward customs of Yidi savage tribes. This conception contributed greatly to the making of the cohesion and promoted minority nationalities approaching to Han culture,and resultantly merged into a nationality.In particular,when the minorities established their government,the idea,became the thinking weapon which protected the Chinese culture and rejected the backward cultures, the view that the differentiation between Hua and Yi has a negative impact on the national history of Chinese is arguable.
