The Future of English and Strategy Choice of ELT in China

The English language changes and develops in contradictions: on the one hand,it calls for standardization as an international language,but on the other,it gradually becomes diversified and regional as more and more people are using it as the second language.As a variance of English,"Globish" has emerged in the process of economic globalization.The article expounds that English language teaching(ELT) in China should develop differentiated strategies to meet the different requirements of different learners.The point is made through discussions on the issues of EFL and EIL.The author holds the opinion that "Globish" deserves close attention and careful study as she believes it may serve as a good solution to EIL education in China.
