"五四"时期打倒孔家店的运动虽然对儒家思想进行了有力的批判,但是这种批判并不足以实现启蒙的任务.儒家思想并不是中国传统文化的全部,对中国人的实际行动产生影响的许多更深层的观念都超出了儒家礼教的范围,启蒙思想家在批判儒家思想时忽视了这一点.因此,完成启蒙的任务关键不在于选择一种新思想取代儒家思想,而在于如何将这种新思想变成真正能支配人的行动的准则.

On the Interpretation of the Modernism of Anti Eudal Ethics in May Fourth New Culture Movement

Although Confucianism was attacked violently in the movement of anti-confucianism in the period of May Fourth,the critique is not enough to accomplish the task of Enlightenment in China,because Confucianism is not the whole of Chinese traditional culture.The deep idedogy,which dominated Chinese's action;was beyond the sphere of Confucianism.But the Enlightenment thinker ignored this.So,the most important thing to accomplish the task of enlightenment is not to choose a new idea to replace Confucianism,but to make the new idea regulate the cehaviors of the chinese.
