| Abstract: | The birth year of Liu Xie has great significance for studying Liu Xie and his works.This research probes into Liu Xie＇s birth year by studying various historical documents and materials with the combination of internal and external evidences.It is discovered that Liu Xie was born in January of 473,the first year of Yuan Hui＇s reign in the Southern Dynasty. |
