禹征三苗与楚蛮的起源

楚蛮为古三苗的后裔,三苗瓦解后成为南方地区的主要族群。后石家河文化当是禹征三苗获胜后对三苗余众进行文化改造的结果。三苗余众在中原文化体系下发展起了一类以红陶系遗存为主的新因素,此类文化因素与早期楚文化有着密切的联系,可能是以楚蛮为主的江汉土著民族所创造的文化遗存。

Subjugation of Sanmiao by Yu and Origin of Chuman

Chuman,the descendants of ancient Sanmiao,became the most influential tribe in southern China after the disintegration of Sanmiao tribe.Post-Shijiahe Culture should be the result of Yu＇s cultural transformation of Sanmiao survivors after his victory over the Sanmiao tribe.Under the influence of Central Plains Culture,Sanmiao survivors developed some new cultural elements,the representative of which was red pottery remains,which are probably the cultural heritage left by the aboriginal tribes including Chuman in Jianghan Plain and closely related to the early Chu Culture.
