荆楚文化特质平议

春秋战国时代,开放、求新、求变的精神特征为当时诸侯各国所共有,并不能说明某一地域文化的特质。荆楚文化受南方水乡泽国、丛林山峦自然氤氲之气而自然物产丰饶的地理环境与巫觋文化的影响,以青铜器、漆器、刺绣、老庄哲学和楚辞为代表,极富想象力、充沛的激情、浪漫的色彩、不屈的性格与理想主义精神,从楚人＂剽轻＂的风俗习性,＂宏识孤怀＂、＂一意孤行＂的思维方式,以及＂劲质而多怼,峭急而多露＂的性格情感而论,荆楚文化的特质应该是与艺术文化特质紧密联系在一起的。

Unique traits of the Jingchu Culture

All the vassal states in the Spring and Autumn and the Warring States Periods（770 BC-221 BC） advocated openness,novelty,and change,which,therefore,should not be taken as the unique traits of a specific regional culture.The Jingchu Culture,influenced by the geographical environment rich in natural resources and the witchcraft culture,was represented by bronzes,lacquerware,embroidery,the philosophies of Laozi and Zhuangzi,and the Songs of the South.It was full of imagination,passion,romanticism,indomitable spirit,and idealism.Based on the valiantness,wild way of thinking,strong and unrestrained emotions of the Chu people,it can be concluded that the unique traits of the Jing-Chu culture lie in its artistry.
