| Abstract: | It is one of the important tasks to improve Chinese EFL students' reading comprehension ability, yet reading process has long been discussed tentatively, as a result various theories about reading have been put forward. The paper first presents a general survey of two influential theoretical model of reading process, i. e. bottom-Up model, top-down model, then it discusses the schema theory and its contributions to reading comprehension and finally the pedagogical implications of these theories for EFL reading are analysed. |
