《聊斋志异》默认值图式英译探析

A Study on English Translation of Liao Zhai Zhi Yi

The classical literature,L/ao Zhai Zhi Yi is concise and shows a higher frequency of word class conversion owing to the linguistic and cultural differences of English and Chinese. Thus it contains a lot of default schemata. These default sche- mata can be roughly divided into four kinds： grammatical, semantic,modal and cultural default schemata. In the process of translation, it is unnecessary for translator to represent the original life experience encoded in the text handle them ex- plicitly. The filling principles of default schemata, for example, the grammatical filling principles, the semantic filling principles;semantic filling principles and cultural filling principles will throw new light on the English translation of de- fauh schemata.
