The relationship between the life table method and the formula for calculating life expectancy]

The author states that average life expectancy can be determined either by life table methods or by mathematical equations. An attempt is made to prove that the life table method is an approximation of first degree to the equation method. Some inherent contradictions in the concept of average life expectancy are considered.
