20世纪90年代文学作为一个独立断代,其意义和价值,尚未得到文学理论批评界的深入研究。20世纪90年代文学对于20世纪中国现代文学整体性的农耕书写特征、整体性的启蒙叙事、革命叙事困境,具有主动性反拨的意味。重新认识20世纪90年代文学,我们可以梳理出三种叙事走向:探寻古典文化、皈依身体性属和走向民间话语。20世纪90年代,作为20世纪的"末世",其文学短处和它的成就一样鲜明,对20世纪80年代的厌弃(包含对20世纪80年代对五四文学的高扬策略的厌弃),使它带上了无起点又无终点的"世纪末"色彩。
