The Plight of Ranke History :Disenchantment and Reenchantment

The theory and method of Ranke history far more surpassed his formers. He maintained that history writing should accord to the facts. The writer should disappear himself in his writings. Ranke sought disenchantment and won great success. But we must remember Ranke history which was developed from his formers. It was inevitable to retain old history's trace. Thus at a certain extent ranke history could not avoid of reenchantment.
