An Analysis on the Spread of American Cotton by Nanjing National Government

Before the War of Resistance Against Japan, Nanjing National Government put into effect the policy of improving the quality of cotton in order to overcome the difficulty of national cotton textile industry, and adopt a series of correct measures, such as local government cooperating with the central government, making the most of cooperative organization, and taking to breed good cotton strains seriously. First fruits were reaped as a result. For instance, American cotton was spread initially in North China, and the quality of the cotton was improved to a certain extent.
