现代社会给人类带来了空前的物质财富与享受 ,人类早就摆脱了对自然环境的被动依赖而创造了适于自己的新生活。然而 ,由于现代社会的竞争激烈、价值多元 ,加之文化建设的相对滞后 ,人类同时也体验了前所未有的失落感、孤独感、焦虑甚至绝望。自我丧失成为现代社会的主要特征之一。使人重新找回自我 ,西方心理学界的许多学者进行了艰辛的探讨 ,提出了不少颇有启发意义的理论见解

Discussion on the western theory of modern society and self-lost

Modern society has brought an unprecedented material wealth to human beings, which made it possible for humans to break away from dependence on the natural environment and to create a new life suitable for them. However, they have also experienced the unprecedented feelings of losing oneself, loneliness, anxiety, or even despair because of the intense competitions in modern society, the various values and the backwardness in cultural construction. Lost of self has become one of the main characteristics of the modern society. In order to help humans to recover the self, scholars in the west have made an arduous exploration and proposed some enlightening theories. In this paper some of the ideas are discussed, in hope that they will help to study the perplexity that people have in the transferring period of China.
