An Analysis of the Industrial Investnent by Yunnan Local Financial Groups during the Period of Economic ModerniZation

China's modernization resulted from foreign impacts through borrowing and transformation. As a result, the tradition was mixed with modern factors. To correctly evaluate the economic phenomena in this period should be based not on established prejudices but on the actual situations, geographical locations and historical backgrounds. Adopting this approach, this article analyses how Yunnan local financial groups helped reform the traditional economic structure and develop the local economy through industrial investment and management.
