| 摘 要： | 西奥多·德莱赛通过《嘉莉妹妹》呈现了一幅19世纪末20世纪初美国资本主义商业社会的浮世绘。立足于欲望叙事,德莱赛以人物和场景为隐喻符号, 映射消费主义语境下人欲无穷、物欲横流和情欲满载的社会现实,表达了作者对美国资本主义商品经济和消费文化的谴责与批判。探析这些隐喻符号的深层意蕴、解读这部作品的文学隐喻功能有着深远的现实意义。

| Abstract: | "Sister Carrie" presents the floating world of the commercialized society of American capitalism in the late 19th and early 20th century. By using characters and scenes as metaphor, Theodore Dreiser reveals the social reality of the American society, which is full of human desires, materialistic and lust, and expresses the author''s condemnation and criticism of capitalist commodity economy and consumer culture. It is of profound practical significance to interpret the literary metaphorical function of the novel and understand the deep meaning of the metaphorical symbols. |
