宋初“三先生”都是著名的经学家 ,他们一反过去传统的治经方法 ,开始以义理解经 ,侧重于发挥儒家经典的微言大义 ,不注重训诂 ,这在学术思想的研究上开了宋学之先河。

Research into the Academic Thoughts of "Trio Scholars" in Early Song Dynasty

Being renowned classics expositors, the "Trio Scholars" distinctly understood how to promote Confucianism to serve the ruling class. Opposite to the traditional study methodology, they advocated interpreting classics in the light of reason and righteousness, with focus on the profound meaning of the sublime words in Confucian classics instead of exegetical studies, which laid foundation for the rationalistic and philosophical classics studies of the Song Dynasty.
