论英语帝国主义背景下的汉语纯洁性

英语帝国主义属于文化帝国主义的一种,它是指在英语和其他语种之间通过建立和不断重建物质结构和文化上的不平等来坚持和维系英语的主宰地位(Phillipson,)。由于21世纪经济、技术全球化的推进,英语领域的帝国主义呈现出史无前例的强劲趋势。居世界之首的美国的经济实力是维系英语帝国主义的有力后盾。受之影响,世界其他语言的纯洁性面临着不同程度的挑战。为此,法、俄、波、德、日等国均做出了不同程度的反应。在这种背景下,汉语纯洁性问题又一次成为了国人议论的焦点。

The Chinese Purity Under the Background of English Linguistic Imperialism

Being a sub-type of cultural imperialism, linguistic imperialism refers to the dominance of English asserted and maintained by the establishment and continuous reconstitution of structural and cultural inequalities between English and other languages(Phillipson,).Due to the advancement of the economic and technological globalization, the linguistic imperialism is unprecedentedly powerful, and the world-leading American economy is the powerful supporting factor of it. Influenced by the linguistic imperialism, the purity of other languages in the world is challenged at different levels, and such countries as France, Russia, Poland, Germany, Japan have made different responses. Under this background, the issue of Chinese purity has once again become the major concern of every Chinese.
