Investigating the Transformation of Social Conventions during the Late Ming Dynasty

With the further development of commodity economy, the Late Ming Dynasty witnessed the emergence of new social conventions, with the characteristics of profit-driven way of business, prevailing extravagance, and violation of social norms. Though failing to bring the then society onto a humanistic track like the Renaissance in Italy, the new conventions played a significant role in promoting positive social changes by breaking through the stifling social atmosphere of the Late Ming Dynasty.
