| Abstract: | Metaphor is not just a linguistic phenomenon but also a thinking phenomenon. This paper, by analyzing the metaphorical meanings of the English and Chinese idioms with animal terms, explores the similarities and differences between the two languages and their causes so that their different metaphorical views can be mastered and cross - culture communication bettered. |
