Contribution of Gongti Poetry

Gongti Poetry (Courtly Poetry ) was an important genre and school of the Chinese classic poetry. Anyway, it used to be neglected or belittled critically as trash writing which was assumed to brim over with euphemism and sentimentalism. However, being put it into the context of the Chinese classic poetry, and make diachronic survey of its development and close analysis of its image constructing, it turns out to be a great contribution to the art of the Chinese poetry. Those courtly poems passed on the traditional eternal themes of human sentiments and moods through describing objects, pushed the process of rhythmizing and ruling poetry with their elaborative metrical arrangements and widened the representation of poetic images with their affluent and delicate usages of images.
