Upon Imagery Construction and Aesthetic Features in Dramas of O'Neill

Based on an anatomy of the symbolic images in the dramas of Eugene O'Neill,the paper explores through exemplification the four major ways of his imagery construction,namely,domineering images,reoccurring images,concurrent images and juxtaposing images,and elucidates the aesthetic features of the images in O'Neill's dramas,including imagistic diversity,holism,and inner drive,ultimately pointing to the imagistic uniqueness,the functions and the aesthetic connotation therein.
