This thesis focuses on revealing the serious controversy over European Integration amid the Thatcher Administration and analyzing the causes of the controversy.Apart from the political struggles among the parties in the British government, more is attributed to the interaction between the realistic interests obtained after Britain's entry into the European Community and the heavy traditional burdens handed down from the British Empire.
