| Abstract: | The contact between the literary men and the Taoist priests in the Song dynasty constituted a special social relationship. The chief ways for them to communicate include the following four forms ： giving self written poems to each other, calling at each other＇s places, seeing off each other for departure, sending poems to each other after departure. The reasons for their communication are mainly to ask the Taoist priests some questions, to discuss on cultural knowledge, to create and chant poems while drinking and singing to meet the mental needs beyond social conventions and to satisfy psychological comfort. |
