翻译过程研究的文化视角

翻译过程的复杂性不仅仅源于语言的异质性,更重要的是源于语言赖于生存的社会文化语境的相异性,因而,翻译是一个受各种文化因素影响和作用的动态的、复杂的过程。本文重点分析了影响翻译过程的四个文化因素:语言因素、语言所承载的文化意义、原语文本的承载的社会文化背景以及目的语语境因素。该分析旨在揭示翻译过程的艰巨性,重新认识翻译作为跨文化交流和对话手段存在的价值和意义。

Studies on Translation Process from a Cultural Perspective

The complexity of inter-lingual translation process lies in the diversity of language and culture.Translation is not only a matter of language,but a matter of culture as well.The dynamic process of translation is affected by many cultural factors.This paper analyzes four of the major cultural factors: languages involved,cultural connotations of the words,the background of the source language text and the acceptability of the translated text in the target language cultural context.The purpose is to help gain a better understanding of the nature and the value of translation as a means of cross-cultural communication.
