《诗经》中的数字

《诗经》对数字运用的熟练程度及其丰富程度,与今相比有过之而无不及。这些数字融入三百篇诗句中,准确地描述了事物,抒发了情感,起到无可替代的作用。据统计,《诗经》中一至九的基本数在159首诗篇中出现264次;十、百、千、万、亿、秭等位数在99首诗篇中出现155次;大写数字壹、贰,两、双、骖、驷等量词,数、倍等数学词汇,在28首诗篇中出现45次。合计在《诗经》中的数字及其词汇共达464次,平均每首诗出现1.5次。乃至出现了数字化诗篇《豳风.七月》。《诗经》中数字表明:中国在三千多年前创造发明了十进位制;西周时代已有四则运算,已有汉字大写壹、贰;孔子是中国历史上有记载的第一位数学教师。

On the Numbers in "Book of Songs"

The degree of mastery and abundance in using numbers in the "Book of Songs" goes even farther than the modern works.These numbers merged in the three hundred poems,accurately depicting objects,expressing feelings,playing a role that cannot be substituted otherwise.According to analysis,in 159 poems of the "Book of Songs",the numbers one through nine appear 264 times;in 99 poems,the numbers of ten,hundred,thousand,ten thousand,hundred million,trillion appear 155 times;and in 28 poems the capitalized characters of quantifiers appear 45 times.In total,the numerals and quantifiers appear 464 times in the "Book of Songs",an average of 1.5 times in each poem.There is even a numerical poem "Wind of Qin-July".The numerals in the "Book of Songs" show that Chinese people created decimal system over three thousand years ago;arithmetic appeared in the West Zhou Dynasty with Chinese characters for numerals;and Confucius is the first mathematical teacher recorded in Chinese history.
