侯外庐研究中国封建社会，涉及的问题包括封建社会确立的依据、中国封建社会的起讫时间、封建社会的主要特征、封建社会的演变与解体以及封建社会的农民战争等。他指出，体系化的制度形式——法典是判断封建制度最终确立的主要依据，土地国有制是中国封建社会的主要特征，虽然前后期土地经营的方式有所改变，但是国有的本质并没有改变。

Study of Chinese feudal society history by HOU Wai-lu

HOU Wailu’s study of Chinese feudal society involved in the basis of feudal society establishment,the origin of Chinese feudal society,the main characteristics of the society,its evolution and disintegratiaon and peasant wars during it.He pointed out that the institutional form—codes were the important basis for the final establishment of the society and the state ownership of land was the main feature of it.Although there might be some changes for the managing style of the land,its state ownership essence never changed.
