郡望观念作为中华传统文化 ,为汉唐以来历代封建王朝所尊崇。渤海爵号与国号的来源 ,是与李唐王朝遵循郡望文化传统密切相关。可以说 ,正是基于大祚荣为古东夷大氏族裔融入者 ,古大氏之郡望为古渤海郡地 ,李唐王朝尊崇其祖先大庭氏及其地望渤海郡 ,故册封大祚荣为渤海郡王 ,自是始去名号 ,专称渤海
