Deng Yizhe's Classification Theory on the Functions of Art and Literature

When literature and art are falling from the "holy spiritual palace" down to the madding crowd,re-reading Deng Yizhe's ideas in 1920s purifies my spirit.Deng Yizhe,an idealist and realist critic of art and literature,meditates on the essence of art and interprets the expressive function of the true art which reveals human spirit.He also interprets the emotional function of poetry and the dramatic function of drama,which is called in this thesis classification theory.His ideas and achievements show his intelligence and his faith in art.
