The ideological quality of literature,its connatural quality,is different from the instrumentalization of literature in that the former is implied in and sprouts out of true lives while the latter is a metaphor indicating a life being harnessed.However,the instrumentalization of literature will continue to exist so long as the contradictory duality remains in the world in which we live.Mo Yan has successfully captured the life of literature through his proposition that the masses writing is individual writing in the way of the masses participation therein.
