华中科技大学文科发展的战略分析

一个学科的建设在一个生命周期内，要经历起步、发展、提高三个阶段。华中科技大学创办文科，已经历了起步、发展阶段，取得了较大成效，积累了一定的经验，开始步入提高阶段；但存在着缺少大师级学者和高水平学者，学科、专业水平不高，重大研究成果和有影响力的论文不多，社会知名度不高，社会影响力较小等问题。因此，对文科发展要有忧患意识，采取多种措施加强高水平师资队伍建设，加强文史哲等基础学科建设，致力于在交叉综合中产生重大成果。

Strategic Analysis on the Development of Liberal Arts in Huazhong University of Science and Technology

A lifecycle of establishing a new discipline includes 3 phases, starting, developing and enhancing. Huazhong University of Science and Technology has completed the first two phases in its liberal arts construction. With great achievement and considerable experience, it has stepped into the third phase. But there are still many problems, such as the shortage of masters and high-level scholars, adequate discipline qualification, great research achievements, influential papers, and social effect. So in the development of liberal arts, we should be mindful of potential dangers, taking measures to enhance faculty quality, strenthen the construction of culture, history and philosophy and other basic subjects, and devote to great research results in discipline converging.
